Heatwaves loves this part of the evening as we see your guests cut loose on the dance floor to great music. Although we are known for our Soul and Motown music, we have adapted our sets to also include popular 80's, Disco, R'n'B, Jazz and Swing with some Rock'n'Roll thrown in for good measure. Heatwave will keep your guests on the dance floor all night long.
Jazz is a difficult style for an inexperienced musician to emulate. Heatwave's qualified musicians are well respected in the Melbourne music scene. Drawing from their knowledge and experience, Heatwave are able to provide an array of styles including jazz dinner music. It always adds a certain sophistication to the evening.
Many brides have taken us up on the offer to play their chosen bridal waltz live. Given sufficient time, Heatwave can perform any bridal waltz you choose.
Heatwave always makes sure there is suitable background music being played throughout the course of the evening. Heatwave Band have a great selection of music which is suitable for various times of the evening. Of course, if there is a certain compilation of your own you would like to be played, we have CD and IPOD/MP3 plug-in facilities to do so.

Sound is everthing! Heatwave is proud of their P.A system as its produces a crisp, dynamic sound with minimal feedback issues. It includes a top of the range Allen&Heath mixing desk running into professional RCF speakers. For larger weddings, Heatwave can provide additional P.A components and a dedicated sound engineer. Basic stage lighting is also provided to add to the party atmosphere.
You'd be surprised where we actually can and have fit! The rule of thumb is that we would prefer to have depth rather than length. Using ingenuity and creative thinking, Heatwave can fit into even tight performance spaces.
Because we are a live band, we are able to adjust our volume quite considerably, depending on the situation. We have worked at many venues with sound meters and we always take it seriously to ensure the night has no interruptions.
Heatwave treat their couples with music from the moment the couple enter the room through to the final dance. At no extra charge, we perform the entrance music, dinner music, dance music, cutting of the cake, bridal waltz, throwing of the bouquet and garter music as well as the final farewell circle songs. A Heatwave member will work with your MC to ensure that the music is always played at the appropriate times.
